Danville jail to provide educational TV to inmates Posted: 26 Jan 2011 01:10 PM PST The Associated Press DANVILLE Danville Sheriff Mike Mondul wants inmates at the city's jail to learn something that could keep them from returning and save their lives. Mondul's office has purchased two DVD players and three televisions so inmates at the Danville Adult Detention Facility can watch educational and training videos. Mondul told the Danville Register & Bee that the goal is to reduce recividism and to educate inmates about sickle cell disease and other illnesses. Profits from the jail's canteen were used to buy the equipment, which cost a total $1,610.
