A Stafford County man and woman were arrested early Saturday, suspected of taking a neighbor's vehicle on a shoplifting mission.

According to Sheriff Charles Jett, someone stole two DVD players and a Samsung telephone from the Walmart on Garrisonville Road in North Stafford late Friday.

Store officials saw two people steal the items and leave the store, then got the license number of the vehicle they left in.

The vehicle, a 1999 Dodge Caravan, belonged to a woman who lives on Sunnyside Drive, Jett said. She didn't know the vehicle was missing until police showed up.

Jett said the Caravan's owner didn't know who had her vehicle but mentioned the name of a woman who had been in her home earlier Friday.

Jett said the owner had not given anyone permission to use her vehicle.

A short time later, police went to a residence and found the vehicle and the property that had been taken from Walmart, Jett said.

Deborah Jeanne Dishman, 39, and Douglas Dishman, 40, both of 25 Sunnyside Drive in Stafford, are charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, petty larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny, Jett said.

Deborah Dishman was already wanted in Fredericksburg on shoplifting and drug charges, court records show.

Douglas Dishman was wanted in Spotsylvania County for a hearing to determine if suspended time on other charges would be reinstated.

Both Dishmans are being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. Jett said he wasn't sure about their relationship.
