NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police in Hendersonville have made an arrest in a rash of car break-ins that occurred late last month although two more suspects are still on the loose.

Chesapeake Harbor, just off Walton Ferry Road, normally a quiet subdivision, was hit over Halloween weekend.

Lt. Scott Ryan with the Hendersonville Police Department told News 2, "The items that were taken were typical of is what left in cars; small amounts of U.S. currency, iPods, GPS units [and] portable DVD players."

Hendersonville police arrested 18-year-old Jeremy Foster, of Pegram, and charged him with eight counts of burglary to vehicles and seven counts of theft and also for stealing a vehicle.

Detectives told News 2 they don't think Foster acted alone and are looking for two more people.  Their names weren't immediately released.

Police said the thieves targeted unlocked vehicles and the crimes could have easily been prevented.

"They just would check as many cars as they could to find the unlocked vehicles," Ryan continued.  "Once they find that, its pay day for them."

The easiest things to do to keep your property safe is to keep your vehicles locked and keep an outdoor light on near your house, according to investigators.

Anyone with information on the break-ins is urged to call Hendersonville police.
