Smash and grab suspects arrested Posted: 18 Nov 2010 03:38 PM PST Detroit (WXYZ) - Two people are in police custody following what the Wayne County Sheriff believes was a smash and grab crime spree. Everything from purses to DVD players and clocks are in the Wayne County Sheriff's office. The sheriff says all the items were either stolen or paid for from credit cards taken by Dwayne Hall and Quida Brownfield. Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napolean says, "These two were obviously in a crime spree. Those seven purses probably represent seven different victims.'' The sheriff says the two stole one victim's purse from her parked car at a gas station at the Wyoming and McNichols intersection Saturday. He adds they used her credit cards to purchase gas and DVD players. Authorities captured the two outside the gas station where they were filling up. The sheriff says they returned in an attempt to sell the DVD players they purchased.
