Black Friday is almost as traditional as Thanksgiving turkey itself. Bargain hunters around metro Atlanta are out shopping for great deals, crowding the stores to get a jump on holiday gift buying.Flat-screen TVs, DVD players and digital cameras are at the top of many shoppers' holiday gift lists. The serious shoppers are flooding the stores. Some even camped out after eating Thanksgiving dinner, to wait for stores to throw open their doors early.Brandsmart in Doraville opened at 11 p.m. Store management is expecting about 17,000 customers."There is nothing like Black Friday. We live for this day," said Jorge Castilla, general manager for the Doraville store.Customers, like Jewel Washington took care of much of their holiday shopping in one stop. "I have Hello Kitty, X-box 360, portable DVD players," Washington said. "It's definitely worth coming out. It's not a fight, it's not a hassle."Daniel Bush spent a little more than he had originally intended for his DVD player. But he said it was still a bargain. "For a Sony Blu-Ray player that has Wi-Fi, it's a better deal than the $50 one," Bush said. But even with all deals, many customers are spending more frugally in the sluggish economy. "I'm spending less. I'm more mindful of what I'm spending my money on," Sheral Simon said.
